Sample itineraries

Our sample itineraries are designed to demonstrate what is possible rather than prescribe what you should book. Tanzania can be experienced in many different ways, and every example can be changed according to season, budget, interests and preferred pace.

A classic northern Tanzania luxury journey might begin in Arusha before continuing to Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. This route offers an excellent introduction to Tanzania, combining elephants and baobabs, volcanic landscapes and some of Africa's finest wildlife environments. For travellers with more time, additional nights in the Serengeti can allow the journey to slow down and provide greater flexibility for wildlife viewing.

A Great Migration journey would be planned around the time of year rather than simply labelled a migration safari. During the calving season, the focus may be the southern Serengeti and predator activity. During the northern migration period, the route may concentrate on the northern Serengeti and Mara ecosystem. The exact journey would be adapted to the conditions expected during your travel dates.

A Tanzania and Zanzibar journey combines wilderness with the Indian Ocean. After several days of safari, you fly to Zanzibar for a slower period of beach, culture and marine experiences. For couples, this can become a romantic honeymoon; for families, a rewarding final chapter.

For adventurous travellers, Kilimanjaro can be combined with safari before or after the climb. For experienced safari travellers, southern Tanzania can provide a quieter alternative to the classic northern circuit.
